About Utsav
Who We Are
Utsav is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable and cultural organization (Regd #02-0620518) dedicated to celebrating and promoting Bengali culture and traditions in the Sacramento region.
Founded in 2002, Utsav aims to create a vibrant and inclusive space where Bengali heritage thrives through festivals, arts, and community engagement. We take pride in organizing grand celebrations of Bengali festivities such as Durga Puja, Saraswati Puja, Poila Boishakh, and more, fostering a sense of unity and cultural pride. While deeply rooted in Bengali traditions, Utsav welcomes individuals from all backgrounds to participate and immerse themselves in the richness of our heritage. Membership is open to everyone, regardless of race, religion, or ethnicity.
Additionally, Utsav serves as a platform for the next generation to connect with their roots, offering opportunities for children to learn about Bengali language, literature, music, and customs through various cultural, literary, and social events held throughout the year.

Election
Utsav General Election
Utsav follows a structured election process to ensure fair and transparent selection of its leadership. The process begins with an official nomination request sent to all members. The Election Committee (EC) reviews nominations and verifies candidates’ willingness to run.
If the required number of candidates is met, the new leadership is announced. If there are too few nominees, EC actively recruits additional candidates. In case of excess nominees, elections are conducted via ballots. Results are declared immediately, and the new team assumes charge.
